THIS IS HOW WE DID IT: We spent months purchasing every magazine extension on the market. The first thing we noticed was that there were a lot of bulky, overweight magazine extensions. We focused on a form factor thatreduced the weightof the extension as much as possible, whilekeeping all the strength. We chose to make our extensions from scratch, out of asolid block of aircraft grade aluminum, which saved weight and kept all the needed strength. This made ourCross Armory +0 Magazine Extensionthelightest weight and slimmest profile, all aluminum, magazine extension in the industry coming in at 2.75 ounces. Thenwe evaluated the grip.Most, if not all of the other mag extensions on the market had a weak grip or no true grip at all.We definetrue grip, asthe ability to hold something with wet or bloody hands and/or glovesand pull on it. Noting this, we designed slots in the Cross Armory+0 Magazine Extensionthat were clean looking, but had a strong 90-degree angled ledge, at the front and at each side withengineered bite to hold your gripwithout snagging. The extra thought and engineering provided atrue grip, for when your life depends on it. Finally, we evaluated theinstallationand retention of the magazine. It appeared that everyone in the industry was trying to do something different or unique to attach their mag extension to the magazine. With that, they stuck us with wild complexity and over complication in the installation process that baffled even our own engineers (and one is an actual rocket scientist). We chose a new path; we believe that oftentimesthe simple solution is the best and most reliable solution.We discarded over complications and went with a simple screw with lock-tight.Clean, easy, reliable installation.
