If your magazine tube will take a 12ga shell then you have one of the older guns that needs the 12ga extension. Using the 7 shot extension as an example shotgun capacity for a magazine extension is figured 1 round in the chamber and 6 rounds of 2 3/4 inch shells in the magazine tube. The new model Remington 870/1187/Versamax shotguns have dimples that will have to be drilled out with 3/16 drill bit before the spring will extend up into the magazine extension. The older model Remington 870/1100/1187will readily accept our extensions without any alterations.
