The Zeiss DTI (Digital Thermal Imaging) Camera 6/40 delivers premium thermal imaging capabilities and a plethora of additional features. It comes equipped with an advanced 640×480 thermal sensor and a high performance 40mm Germanium objective lens – together, these features allow the DTI 6/40 to detect heat signatures from an impressive 2296 yards away. These heat signatures are projected onto a 1024×768 AMOLED display with pristine clarity and sharp details, giving the user unparalleled detection and recognition abilities. The DTI 6/40’s thermal imaging abilities are further enhanced by wide range of secondary modes and features. These include Zeiss’ own ZSIP Pro Software to produce the most enhanced thermal image possible through an innovative image algorithm that combines “tiling” for contrast optimization and image sharpening of the hottest areas. A set of newly designed color modes greatly mitigate the harsh blinding effect of staring into the screen in a dark environment, abd exchangeable lenses allows to user to always have the best viewing angle for a selected application. The detection mode highlights heat signatures to a higher degree while also reducing the cold background – this makes it easier to spot animals that are behind brush and vegetation. Fog mode is designed to increase user visibility in humid environments, which would otherwise block the transmission of thermal radiation. The DTI 6/40’s movement alert function recognizes the movement of the hottest east source in the field of view and gives the user an alert signal via an LED in the display. Furthermore, the smart standby mode uses angle activation to automatically switch on the device when the DTI 6/40 is brought to the user’s eye to greatly improve battery life.

The button layout is optimized in a triangular format, which naturally places the user’s fingers in the proper location for easy one-handed operation. The buttons are slightly raised, making them easy to use when wearing gloves or when the user’s fingers are numb from cold weather. The overall shape of the DTI 6/40 has been enhanced to accommodate both left and right handed users.
