Benelli delivers a truly unique shotgun with the M3 Tactical. What sets the M3 Tactical apart from shotguns of a similar class is it’s unique semiautomatic/pump action dual operating system. When set to pump action, the operator can utilize lighter loads that wouldn’t cycle in a semiautomatic, such as field loads or less lethal rounds. When set to semiautomatic, the M3 Tactical can rapidly and reliably cycle heavier loads such as buckshot or slugs. The semiautomatic mode employs Benelli’s renowned Inertia Driven System. This extremely reliable action is composed of just 3 main parts – the bolt body, inertia spring, and rotating bolt head – and harnesses the inertia of recoil to cycle the next round. The Inertia Driven System prevents residue from entering the action, allowing the M3 Tactical to run cleaner. Switching between semiautomatic and pump action is instantaneous thanks to a conveniently located selector ring in the front of the magazine tube. Other features of the M3 Tactical include ghost-ring sights for quick target acquisition, and a synthetic stock with an ergonomic pistol grip.
